Mark Springett

Associate Head Coach

Mark joined the Solid Rock team in 2020 as a Team Coach, coaching Vault, Bars, and Floor. Mark was promoted to Associate Head Coach in 2022. Prior to joining Solid Rock Gymnastics, Mark worked for the University of Nebraska Athletic Department from 2019 - 2021. A former Division 1 athlete, Mark competed for the University of Iowa from 2013 - 2018, placing 5th on Rings at the 2017 Big Ten Championships.


Coaching since the age of 13, Mark has coached a variety of students, but primarily coached Boy's gymnastics. He coached at Exxcel Gymnastics, New England Sports Academy (now Massachusetts Elite Gymnastics Academy), and Eyas Gymnastics.


Before college, Mark competed for Massachusetts Elite Gymnastics Academy (formerly NESA) where he was a level 10 gymnast for all four years of high school. At MEGA, he qualified for JO Nationals all four years, competing as a member of the Region 6 team. In his senior season, Mark placed 6th in the All-Around, 5th on Rings, and tied for 4th on the Parallel Bars at JO Nationals. Mark was also State and Regional Champion. He started his gymnastics career at Exxcel Gymnastics from 2000 - 2009.


Mark studied Sport and Recreational Management at the University of Iowa where he received both his Bachelors and Masters degree in the field. Mark was an Academic All-Big Ten Honoree, Collegiate Gymnastics Association All-American Scholar Athlete, Presidential Committee on Athletics Medalist, and Big Ten Sportsmanship award recipient.
